Day 01 : Delhi
A land of rich heritage that's ancient. The mystique of India, its history
of 5000 years, philosophy, religions, fabulous history monuments all add
to its bewildering diversity to create a unique and colorful mosaic. This
is the wonder that is India, come, enjoy and experience it. Later stay in
the 5 star deluxe hotels & leisure.
New Delhi begins with the drive past Safdarjang's
Tomb (1753 AD) on the way to Qutab Minar (1193 AD) this striking medieval
tower of victory of Persian World is 73 m high. Within the Qutab complex,
amidst the ruins of Quwat-ul-Islam mosque, stands the Iron pillar which
has stood the vagaries of weather and has not rusted over 1500 years.
Then drive through New Delhi includes the Embassy area (Diplomatic enclave),
Government buildings, India Gate, Sikh Temple (Bangla Sahib Gurudwara),
Birla Temple and Connaught Place, New Delhi's main shopping area. Visit
Humayun's Tomb - considered to be the fore runner of Taj Mahal.
Day 02: Delhi
After a leisurely breakfast at hotel, the tour guide escorts you to Jama
Mosque built in 1650 AD, followed by a drive past the breathtaking Red
Fort (1639-1648), and built by Shah Jahan, creator of the Taj Mahal. Then
we proceed on to Raj Ghat, which is the memorial of Mahatma Gandh.
In the afternoon, your tour of New Delhi begins

Day 3: Delhi - Leh (flight)
From Delhi, catch an early morning flight to Leh. On arrival at Leh airport,
you will be transferred by our representative to the hotel. Have the breakfast
in the hotel. Take rest throughout the day. In the evening take a short
walk around Leh bazaar. Spend the night in the hotel.
Leh, the capital of Ladakh is a fascinating
destination. Age-old monasteries, quaint lanes, colorful markets and stunning
views of the Himalayas make Leh an exotic destination. Leh is where your
adventure in Ladakh begins. You can go trekking through the mountainous
terrain of Ladakh, enjoy a game of polo in a high altitude arena or watch
an archery contest where local residents compete in a contest that remains
unchanged by time. Mountaineering, white water rafting and wildlife tours
are other adventurous attractions of Leh Ladakh India. Though the weather
can be freezing cold, the smiles on the faces of the Ladakhi people are

Day 4: Leh - Monasteries
Enjoy a full-day excursion to the famous monasteries in Leh. Visit the
Thiksey monastery. From there you will drive to one of the most famous
monasteries of the Ladakh region, Hemis monastery. While returning you
will visit to Shey Palace. Stay overnight in the hotel.
Shey Gompa: Situated on a hillock 15 km
south of Leh, Shey Gompa was previously the summer palace of the Ladakhi
kings. A prince of Ladakh installed the 12 m tall gold-plated copper statue
of Sakyamuni Buddha, which can be seen here. The Shey Gompa celebrates
its annual festival on the 30th day of the 1st month of the Tibetan Buddhist
calendar.
The Thiksey monastery located 17 Km from Leh is 12 storeys high and has
many statues of Buddha, a pillar inscribed with Buddhist teachings, a
15 m high seated Maitreya Buddha in the main prayer hall, and a vast collection
of Buddhist art. Home to monks of the Gelukpa order the Thiksey monastery
is known for its annual festival held from the 17th to 19th day of the
12th month of the Tibetan Buddhist calendar.
The Hemis Gompa is the biggest monastery in Ladakh. Located 45 Km to the
south of Leh. Hemis Gompa was built in 1630 and houses monks of the Brokpa
or Red Hat sect. Tourists can see beautiful frescoes (paintings) on the
walls and the largest Thangka painting in Ladakh, which is over 12 m in
length. The Hemis Gompa is famous for its annual Tse Chu Festival held
in June-July, which is characterized by colorful masked dances. The festival
commemorates the anniversary of Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan
Buddhism. Dancers wearing brightly colored masks that represent good and
evil characters in Mahayana Buddhism, enact an age-old tale of the victory
of good over evil. The Hemis Festival also includes a vibrant bazaar where
craftsmen sell handcrafted items.
Day 5: Leh - Chumathang - Tsomoriri (240 kms)
In the morning leave for Chumathang stop, which is famous for medical
hot spring and people visit to this place for medical bath. From here
a short drive will take you to Maha Bridge, the main checking point to
enter to this new area. On the way visit Sumdah village and another 55
kms drive will take you to Tsomoriri. The Tsomoriri Lake is the breeding
ground for numerous species of birds, like the bar headed goose, crested
grebe, the Brahmini duck (ruddy sheldrake) and the brown-headed gull.
The Tsomorir Lake is 8 kms wide and 28 kms long. Spend the night there
in the tent.
Day 6: Tsomoriri
In the morning visit Korzok village. In the afternoon you will visit around
the lake. Have dinner and spend the night in the tent.
Day 7: Tsomoriri - Korzok - Puga - Tsokar - Tanglangla - Leh
In the morning, drive to Mahe village. The village is famous for the scene
of shooting fountain and white clouds hanging upon. Drive to Puga valley,
which is famous for Butan gas. Then visit Tsokar via Polokongka pass,
which is at an altitude of 4090 mts. You can also visit Thugke gompa.
Continue driving towards Leh via Tanglangla pass, which is at a height
of 5350 mts and is the second highest motorable pass in the world. After
reaching Leh in the evening spend the night in the hotel.
Day 8: Leh
Spend the day by rafting on Indus River, which starts from Phe to Nimu.
Enjoy the lunch at the banks of Indus. In the afternoon return to the
hotel. Stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 9: Leh-Khardongla pass-Leh (85 Kms)
Go for an excursion to Khardongla Pass, which is the highest motorable
pass in the world 5600 mts. At the top of the pass, you can enjoy the
natural beauty of snow-capped mountains. In the late afternoon return
back to the hotel and spend the night there.
Day 10: Leh - Delhi (flight)
You will be transferred to the airport to catch a flight to Delhi. On
arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to the hotel for wash 'n' change
and in time will be preceded to the international airport to catch a flight
to onward destination.
